If there is one thing that could rejuvenate your body during a hot and sweaty day out exploring the lovely colonial town of George Town, Penang , it’s the nostalgic shaved ice dessert otherwise known as Cendol in Penang.

While we were planning for this Penang trip, which mostly involved writing down famous food spots, Mr Bao noted: If we don’t go to this place, did we really go to Penang?? He was referring to this famous Chendul stall in Georgetown.

When one is in Penang, the Penang Road Famous TeoChew Chendul is a must-have especially in our super hot weather. It is a business that not only sustained itself over the years, but has grown to become of the most sought after cendol brands in Malaysia.

Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul.Ice Kacang stall's (blue bowl) chendol is almost identical. But blue bowl's ice is shaved a little coarser, so we have to bite some hard gritty ice (more fun for some).

The best cendol I’ve ever had was in Georgetown, Penang. I usually like my cendol icy with lumps of teeth numbing ice so I was very disappointed when I got a warm-ish bowl of cendol from the “Penang Most Famous Teochew Chendul” (Yes, that’s its name!).

This chendol is the spot I always come back to whenever I'm in Penang. So refreshing, especially under the hot sun. Even though the queue looks long, it moves really fast. No table?

Nice chendol as stated. The boss said if no more seats available, there is another shop also belongs to him where we can be seated too! There is also similar chendol opposite side. Chendol quite refreshing especially on a hot day!

Chendol not bad, can see why people come back for it. Rest of the food was ok, but the Chendol really must try.

Very crowded. Tables were shared with others because so busy and crowded. I tried the chendul which was unbelievably good. You should try this chendul if you came to Penang.

The cendol was lacking in flavor. The asam laksa was delicious. The place was very crowded, packed, and hot.
