And one of the most popular places for cendol is at a little street side stall in Lebuh Keng Kwee known as Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul. This humble dessert stall founded by one Mr. Tan Teik Fuang has been around since 1936, with the original stall being at Penang Road.

I fell in love with Penang Road Cendol the first time I ate it, about 4 decades ago. It was then a small stall along Penang Road, at the junction of Lebuh Keng Kwee. The stall is always crowded, and we have to wait and then stand around the stall along Penang Road and Lebuh Keng…

Much has been said about this Penang 's Chendul stall, now people call it Teochew Chendul - we Penangites just call it Penang Road Chendul. But then, we are wrong too! For the stall is not at Penang Road, more correctly it is at Keng Kwee Street.

Penang Road Nyonya Cendol is one of the two cendol stalls located opposite each other in Lebuh Keng Kwee. It was founded by Mdm Cheah Gaik Ling in 1958, making it one of the oldest cendol stalls in Penang.

A bowl of cendol costs RM5. The cendol is sweet at first, then a little sweet. The coconut milk flavor is quite strong, and the cilantro is the sweetest. There was a queue. While waiting, I saw a lot of flies buzzing around.

I think many reviewers are confusing this stall with the "famous" one opposite. Tried both stalls on separate days, this one is way better in every aspect.

There's a queue for laksa, so I ate cendol while waiting in line. It's quite a feat, considering I've had a Michelin star for several years! But honestly, it was just okay. In this hot weather, eating something icy would have been better!

This is the Nonya Chendol store, do not post other store comments here! The map location was wrongly pinned, it should be directly opp another chendol stall, located on the left side of Jalan Keng kwee.

Perhaps Taiwanese shaved ice is just so-so for me 👍. Towards the end, the sweet syrup flavor was too strong, and I couldn't really taste the deliciousness of the other ingredients.

A bowl of cendol for $5.50 has very little filling, just soup. The cendol at Midtown Kuala Lumpur is $4.80, much cheaper, tastier, and a larger portion. This place is really not worth going back to.

There are staff who speak Chinese. They close around 6 PM. Their signature cendol (RM5.50) is delicious and worth recommending.
