Perfection in a bowl! The wonderfully thick gravy has a big flavour, yet layered with nuance. There's a wonderful herbaceousness that yields to a complex chilli bite.

First time trying asam laksa because it was listed in the Michelin Guide, and I loved it! 🍜✨ The taste was so unique—sour, tangy, and refreshing. The perfect balance of flavors that makes you want another bite!

Hidden gem, go to comfort food when in Penang. Crispy popiah to be dipped into the asam laksa broth is a must try. Daily special Lime lemonade is refreshing and serves as a good reset in between food tours.

I am not a laksa fan in general but this was something else. Real big punchy flavours, generous portions and such a delicate broth. Loved it very much and would go again. Be sure to also have their iced nutmeg juice.

This is an excellent place for laksa and their spring rolls. The lady boss is very friendly as is the uncle boss. It’s family run and you can taste the love the lived experience in the food. Highly recommended when in Penang. I’d go again.

Find two things you’re good and do them well. That’s what My Own Cafe does. Laksa and spring rolls that are out of this world. Cheap as chips and very friendly staff.
