Ah Koo’s Hokkien Mee : right in front of Medan Selera Padang Brown, this bowl of Hokkien Mee packs a bunch of flavour! Due to their popularity among locals, they sell out quick, so be sure to be there before 11am (not kidding!).

Ah Koo’s is very well-known among the locals for serving some of the best Hokkien Mee in Penang. One of the few shops that operate only during the morning, waiting time is at least 30 minutes during peak hours.

My recent prawn mee discovery was at this corner shop along Jalan Perak called Classic Coffeeshop, opposite the Padang Brown food court. The stall opens at 8am but it’s best to get there before 9.

Clean airy bright place. Self order at the counter, easy step. Is a really good flavourful bowl of hokkien mee. The noodles are done al dente and without strong alkaline taste. The broth my goodness, is so rich yet is not fishy.

They've moved to a more proper location just next to their old shop. The new one here has 2 floors. The ground is stuffy but the top comes with aircond so it's more comfortable.

Always is the best taste Hokkien Mee for me 🥰. Order until food deliver to table not even 5 minutes. Save a lot time for wait compare to the One Conner . Service here also much much much better then One Conner shop.

Hokkien Mee: 8/10 - Worth a try. Regular Hokkien Mee: RM8, no egg. Add egg: RM1. The soup is rich and flavorful, the chili is quite spicy and delicious.

Much better location with aircon. Previous location was old and very warm, as only fan being supply. The noodle is great and today is better because maybe the fews last bowl that served.

Authentic Hokkien Mee…you won’t regret as full of prawn broth…within top 5 in my list…this place is better than the old place…aircond available upstairs…usual bowl don’t have egg and you need to add on…

The broth was incredibly flavorful and rich, so flavorful it was almost unbelievable. Unfortunately, the alkaline water in the yellow noodles was a bit too concentrated, somewhat ruining the overall aroma of the bowl.

It's pretty tasty. The chili sauce used to change the flavor is a bit disappointing. I like that there's seating on the second floor and it's air-conditioned.
