No. 5 Char Koay Teow was said to be strongly recommended by locals and since it's so near our hotel, St. Giles Wembley ; I guess there's no harm trying as I had plenty of time on my hands!

The best Char Koay Teow in Penang. If you love the charcoal taste, this one is No. 1! If you prefer freshness, the crab + prawn + blood cockle char koay teow is best. I ordered the mantis prawn char koay teow.

I will not wait 45mins-1hr for a plate of Char Koay Teow in the heat but the stars were aligned and I only had to wait 10 mins during my maiden visit here. I was here on a Wednesday at about 1.30pm.

A recommendation from local. There are various options of top up such as crab, mantis prawn, sotong and duck egg. It enjoys its fair share of supporters. At 1pm, the wait was about 20 mins.

It’s a corner hawker stand next to a wall and at the side of a car park. CKT is very good. Great wok hei. Nice balance between cockles, prawns, chili, vegetables and Kway Teow. It’s a long wait but worth the wait.

In my own experience.... had to wait for 2 hours just to get my orders. My opinion as the seller said CAN WAIT OR NOT? CANNOT MEANS DONT EAT NEVERMIND.

Waited 90mins for the meal to be serve and finished the meal within 10mins. If you want to try this food stall then make sure you are not rushing and you can stand the heat.

They open at 12pm and it's best to be there before 12pm to get into a table queue. There aren't many tables so you might need to share tables. It's also raging hot so, if you can strategically sit in front of the standing AC unit then…

The first thing is the smoky wok hei, that slightly charred aroma that gives the dish its soul. The flat rice noodles coated in a rich, savoury-sweet sauce that leans on dark soy, a touch of chilli, and pork lard for depth.
