Run by a true Thai lady that has been localized for many years, it’s really easy to overlook Min Jiang Coffee Shop when passing by Air Itam Road. This Thai Tomyam noodle is one of the few stalls in the coffee shop that stood out.

Min Jiang is a coffee shop in Ayer Itam Road which is located a few houses away from the Nissan showroom. There are quite a number of stalls there. Highly recommended is the Thai Tomyam stall which is run by a lady with operating hours from 8.00 pm onwards.

If I am not mistaken, they use garoupa meat, coat it in a delicious egg and tapioca flour mix, frying it till it is crispy on the outside like fried chicken . The soup stock is plain and simple. Almost like a seafood version of Hokkien Bak Kee Thn'g.

I want to try this famous Thai Tom Yam for quite sometimes, every time either already out of stock or the stall still not yet ready or the stall is not open. I always got no fate with this Thai Tom Yam.

One of the best authentic tom yam in Penang! Rich, spicy, and full of flavour — a must-visit for tom yam lovers. Spice level is adjustable to your liking! Note: the stall is open from 6.30pm to 10pm (daily except Sunday).
