Ah Boy Koay Teow Th’ng: while the flavour of the Koay Teow Th’ng is milder at Ah Boy, the name is quite prophetic! That’s the sound that will come out of your mouth as you gulp on this comforting soup.

Penang is a wonderful place where you get to find hidden gems everywhere; on one of my serendipitous encouters recently, I've found a Koay Teow Th'ng stall, tucked within a small alley along Lebuh Clarke. Business was brisk and many seemed to be regular patrons at this stall.

Can you believe the small alley at the quiet street namely Clarke Street, one of the best Penang's koay teow th'ng is hidden there? By only selling koay teow th'ng and tauge chicken, the alley has been frequently visited by patrons for at least 30 years.

Ok, so to find this place, you look for the noodles cart in the alley beside the corner shop. You order at the cart and you can sit at one of the tables in the alley or in the corner shop.

Love the soup here. It is light but full flavour perfect for breakfast. The meatball has a light gingery taste which balances the meat flavour with fish ball. Fish ball has a bouncy bite to it.

The keow teow thing is very delicious with hand made meat ball (very nice), kampung chicken and fish ball. The soup is made frm kampung chicken and no MSG.

Options of indoor or outdoor seatings. Waiting time of up to 30 minutes depending on no. of customers. Standard KTT is RM7 with meat ball, fish ball and shredded chicken meat. Add-on options are available. Soup tastes good.
