How we classify halal
Halal Mode hides non-halal venues. It shows three kinds of places Muslim diners
often eat at, labelled honestly so you can decide for yourself.
-
Halal (13) JAKIM-certified. We've seen the cert or a verified source reporting it.
-
Muslim-owned (57) Owned and run by Muslims. Usually no pork or alcohol, but no formal JAKIM cert sighted.
-
Pork-free (6) No pork on the menu. Not Muslim-owned and not certified. Included for flexible Muslim diners.
-
Non-halal (120) Serves pork or operates out of a non-halal kitchen. Hidden while Halal Mode is on.
We under-promise on purpose. If a venue isn't certified, we won't call it halal,
even if a blogger said so. When in doubt, check the venue's own JAKIM cert.
